Newspaper Columnist, Author, and Writer

Lynne Crandall is a newspaper writer and columnist. Lynne is the press person for the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine which began in 2002. Her efforts to provide extensive press coverage assisted the organization in passing an important regulatory bill that was signed into law by Michigan's Governor Granholm February 23, 2006.

She is currently a contributing writer to www.capitalgainsmedia.com, an online magazine that focuses on the excitement of the city of Lansing and surrounding towns with a sort of "cool cities" consciousness.  Her weekly lifestyle column "Get Star Power" began in 2002 and reached 65,000 readers, appearing in three Gannett newspapers in Michigan, and Greenville, S.C., and can now be found on her entertainment web site.  She was also an contributing writer to Lansing State Journal and the LSJ's Noise Magazine.

Always a Unique Approach 

When a nutritionist came to her asking for help developing a press release on a healthy eating strategy after the holidays, she suggested that the client, who was an excellent cook, create a menu of healthy, delicious holiday meals.  When the client was scheduled to appear on a local segment of a television news program, she had the foresight to make the recipes and bring them along for the staff to sample.  They were a big hit and the staff was able to honestly say the recipes were delicious so the interview was a success.  Her phone rang for days with new clients and she was able to get new business right through the holiday season, rather than waiting until clients wanted to start post holiday fitness regimens.

What's New?

Lynne is always working on various projects.  Since she led the media effort for the Michigan State University Kresge Art Museum 2005 Twilight in the Garden Fundraiser, which brought in $10,00 more dollars and 100 more patrons to the museum than previous fundraisers, she is especially pleased at the recent June 1, 2007, announcement of a contribution of $26 million dollars to fund the new facility.  This new facility will truly be a jewel in the crown of MSU.
